Qantas still feels safe and professional and the domestic network within Australia is convenient. The thing is, fares are high compared to competitors and the meal on my Sydney to Perth flight was underwhelming for the money. Reliable, but I am no longer sure it justifies the premium.

Regular Qantas domestic flyer here and the experience is consistently good. Flights run on schedule and the lounge access makes early mornings bearable. My one gripe is that seat selection on the cheaper fares costs extra, which feels a bit stingy for the price.

Flew Qantas from Melbourne to Los Angeles and it was excellent end to end. The crew were warm and professional, the seat was comfortable for the long haul, and the entertainment kept me going the whole way. Departed and landed dead on time. Exactly what you want from a flag carrier.
Comfortable long-haul and great crew
Qantas misplaced my checked bag on an international leg and tracking it was a complete ordeal. The claims line gave me a reference number and then nothing for weeks. It eventually turned up damaged with no apology or compensation offered. Deeply disappointing from a flag carrier.
Mishandled baggage and no follow-up
Qantas has always been my default for Australia travel and the safety record speaks for itself. Lately though I have noticed thinner catering and longer call-centre waits. The international flight I just took was fine but not the standout it used to be. Genuinely on the fence now.
