I filed a medical claim with Ping An and although the app made submission easy, the actual approval dragged on for weeks with repeated requests for the same documents. Chasing it through the call centre was exhausting. The technology is slick but the back-end processing let it down badly.

My Ping An car insurance was cheap and the app is well designed, but when I had a minor accident the support felt impersonal and scripted. Getting a human who could actually decide anything took several attempts. Disappointing when it actually mattered.

Impersonal, hard to reach a decision-maker
When everything worked, Ping An was excellent. My outpatient claim was submitted through the app in minutes and reimbursed within two days, faster than any insurer I have used. The integrated health services and telemedicine were a genuinely nice bonus.

Overall my Ping An health and life cover offers good value and the digital ecosystem, from policy management to health tracking, is genuinely advanced. Premiums are competitive for the protection. The only thing holding it back is call-centre wait times when you need a person.
