I sank months into a NetEase mobile title and after a forced update my account progress vanished completely. Support sent me copy-paste replies for two weeks and never restored anything. Losing that much time with zero accountability has put me off their games entirely.

NetEase makes genuinely polished games but the gacha and pay-to-win mechanics are relentless. Competing fairly without spending real money is nearly impossible at higher levels. The grind feels engineered purely to wear you down into paying.

When NetEase gets it right the results are stunning. The open-world detail and combat systems in their flagship titles are world-class and run smoothly on my mid-range PC. The localisation for global players has also improved hugely. Genuinely impressed.
