XPeng absolutely nailed the balance of price, range and technology. The self-parking actually works in tight city spots, the screen is crisp and responsive, and efficiency on my commute has been excellent. I keep discovering new features through updates and it still feels cutting edge.
Great range, working self-park, crisp tech
XPeng builds genuinely smart EVs and the assisted driving features are the best I have used at this price. On long motorway runs the system reduces fatigue massively and the cabin tech feels properly futuristic. Two years in and the over-the-air updates keep making the car better. Seriously impressive engineering.
Excellent driver assistance, futuristic tech, frequent updates
There is no denying XPeng packs in impressive software and the smart features are genuinely useful. Where I am torn is that some fundamentals lag behind, like wind noise at speed and a ride that gets fidgety on poor roads. Great gadgets, average comfort, so it really depends what you value.
Advanced smart features
Wind noise and firm ride
I bought into XPeng for the smart driving promise, but the system disengaged abruptly a couple of times at highway speed with little warning, which was genuinely frightening. The dealer logged it but could not reproduce the fault, so I have lost trust in the very feature I paid extra for. Not acceptable on a safety-related system.
Driver assist disengaging without warning
Really pleased with my XPeng overall, as the technology feels a step ahead and the running costs are tiny. The interior is roomy and the displays are gorgeous. My only gripe is that it occasionally negotiates a slower rate at certain public chargers, so I stick to the ones I know work well.
Ahead-of-curve tech, cheap to run, spacious
Inconsistent public charging speeds
