WordStream made our Google Ads management more approachable and the 20-minute work week feature genuinely highlighted quick wins. For a small business without a dedicated PPC person it is helpful. That said, once campaigns got more sophisticated we found the optimisation suggestions a bit generic and ended up overriding many of them.
Approachable for non-experts
Generic suggestions for advanced campaigns
WordStream helped us structure our paid search account properly and the alerts flag budget issues before they hurt us. As a medium business it covers most of what we need day to day. I would like deeper bid-strategy controls, but the guided workflow makes optimisation far less intimidating.
Guided workflow and helpful budget alerts
Limited bid-strategy depth
WordStream keeps our small e-commerce shop on top of paid search without needing to hire an agency, and the recommendations have trimmed our cost per click noticeably. Setting up performance alerts was quick. My only minor complaint is that the dashboard occasionally lags when pulling larger date ranges.
Lowered our cost per click
Dashboard lags on large date ranges
We cancelled our WordStream subscription before the renewal date but were charged anyway, and untangling the refund took weeks of emails. The PPC tools were fine while we used them, but the billing handling was a genuine frustration. For a tool meant to save us money on ad spend, the experience left a bad impression.
Charged after cancellation, slow refund
The free Google Ads grader and WordStream's keyword tools gave us a clear starting point to clean up wasted spend. Managing search and a bit of social from one place suits our small marketing team. The reporting could be more customisable, but for the price it delivers solid value.
