Steam almost never goes down and the workshop mod support for my games is fantastic. Big picture mode works great on the TV too. My only complaint is that the download speeds occasionally throttle for no obvious reason in my region.
Stable platform and great Workshop mod support
Download speeds throttle sometimes
Valve nailed it with Proton compatibility and the Deck verified ratings make it easy to know what runs well. My whole backlog is now portable and the cloud saves sync between desk and handheld seamlessly. This is the most fun I have had with PC gaming in years.
Excellent Proton compatibility and cloud sync
I had a fraudulent charge on my Steam wallet and it took well over a week to get any meaningful reply from Valve support. The ticket kept bouncing between canned responses before a human actually looked at it. For a platform this size the support speed is disappointing.
Very slow customer support response times
Valve's Steam library, sales and cloud saves keep me coming back year after year. The seasonal sales are legendary and refunds within the policy window are painless. Only knock is the storefront discovery can bury great indie games under the same big titles every week.
Huge library, frequent sales, easy refunds
Discovery algorithm pushes the same titles
Valve proved they still make incredible games with Alyx. The physics interactions, level design and pacing set a new bar for VR. Combined with the rock-solid Steam platform underneath, it is clear why this studio has such a loyal following.
Genre-defining game craftsmanship
