Our Vacasa cabin was comfortable and well-equipped, but a friend's booking through them the same week had cleanliness issues, so the quality clearly varies by home. Communication was okay if a little slow. A bit of a gamble depending on which property you land.

The smart lock code Vacasa sent for our rental didn't work and the after-hours line kept us on hold for ages while we stood outside in the cold. We eventually got in but lost an evening. Managing properties is their whole job, so this kind of failure is hard to forgive.
Faulty lock code and unreachable support
The Vacasa rental we booked looked far better in the photos than in person, with a broken hot tub and a kitchen missing half the basics. Getting hold of anyone to fix it during our stay was a struggle. For a managed vacation rental I expected far better quality control.

The Oregon coast home Vacasa manages was clean and the location was lovely. What soured it was the pile of fees at checkout, the cleaning charge plus a service fee added a lot to the headline price. Decent stay overall but the pricing felt less than transparent.
