Twitch used to be the best place to watch live gaming but the ad load has gotten out of hand, with unskippable breaks mid-clutch. On top of that the player buffers constantly on my connection even at lower quality. It's testing my patience as a long-time viewer.
Great creators still here
Excessive ads, frequent buffering
Following pro tournaments on Twitch is seamless and the clip-and-share tools make it easy to grab highlights. The mobile app has improved a lot too. I just wish chat moderation gave streamers a few more built-in options, but overall I'm happy.
Easy clipping, strong esports coverage
Moderation tools could be deeper
Nothing beats Twitch chat when your favourite streamer hits a clutch moment in a tournament. The discovery of smaller creators is great and the emote culture makes it feel like a real community. I've subscribed to a dozen channels and never regretted it.
Vibrant chat, great creator variety
Twitch is my default for esports broadcasts and the VOD system means I never miss a match. The only downside is how much mobile data the streams chew through when I'm watching on the go in India. Otherwise the experience is excellent.
Reliable streams, good VODs
Heavy mobile data usage
The streaming quality is consistently good and the interactive features like channel points and predictions are genuinely fun. My only gripe is that supporting multiple creators with subs gets expensive fast. Still the gold standard for live gaming content.
Fun interactive features, stable streams
Subscriptions get pricey
