My Swisscom fibre line went dead and despite four support calls nobody could get a technician out for nearly three weeks. I work from home and lost real income because of it. For the country's largest provider, this level of delay is completely unacceptable.
Painfully slow fault repair and lost income
Once it was up and running the Swisscom broadband has been excellent, super stable for video calls and streaming in 4K. The signal at home is strong throughout the flat. The only downside was the wait for the install appointment, which took longer than promised.
Stable, fast home broadband
Long wait for installation
I was automatically locked into a new 24-month Swisscom contract that I never clearly agreed to, and the early termination fee they quoted was steep. The network is fine, but feeling trapped by the small print soured the whole experience for me.
Network quality is decent
Auto-renewal and high exit fees
Swisscom is hands down the most reliable network I have used in Switzerland, with full bars even deep in the Alps. The fibre at home is fast and the TV bundle is slick. My only gripe is that you pay a clear premium compared to the smaller operators.
Unbeatable nationwide coverage
Costs more than rivals
Swisscom gives me reliable coverage and the customer service in German has been courteous every time I have called. On the other hand, the monthly cost is high and I am not sure I get enough extra value over cheaper Swiss options. Genuinely a mixed bag.
Reliable coverage and polite support
High price for the value
