My Subaru's CVT failed well before I expected and getting it covered turned into a frustrating back-and-forth with the dealer over warranty terms. I was without my car for weeks and felt the goodwill response fell short for a loyal owner. Deeply let down by the whole ordeal.
Premature CVT failure, poor warranty support
My Subaru Crosstrek is the ideal size for city living with real off-road ability when the weekend calls. The cabin is comfy and the AWD inspires confidence in the rain. Only knock is that the engine feels a touch underpowered on steep highway on-ramps, otherwise excellent.
Compact yet capable, confident in rain
Underpowered on inclines
The Subaru Forester has been flawless for camping trips and the daily school run alike. Visibility is fantastic, the AWD shrugs off muddy trails, and the EyeSight driver assist has genuinely prevented a fender bender. Reliable, practical and built to last.
Excellent visibility, capable AWD, great driver aids
My Subaru Outback with symmetrical all-wheel drive got me through a snowstorm when every other car was stuck. The boxer engine has a lovely low centre of gravity feel and the safety tech is reassuring with my kids on board. This is the most confidence-inspiring car I have driven.
Outstanding AWD, great safety, planted handling
My Subaru drives wonderfully but the boxer engine burns oil between services more than I expected. I have to top it up regularly and the dealer keeps calling it normal. For a brand known for engineering, this niggle has been a real disappointment.
Engaging to drive
Excessive oil consumption
