When Starlink works it's genuinely fast, easily enough for 4K streaming. But I get short outages a few times a day and during storms it can drop for longer stretches. For the price I hoped for more stability, though I understand the tech is still maturing.
High speeds when connected
Frequent short outages
Living out in the countryside, Starlink finally gave us usable internet where nothing else reaches. The speeds are great when the sky is clear, but rain and heavy cloud do cause brief dropouts. The upfront hardware cost and monthly fee are steep, so I'm torn.
Works where nothing else does
Weather dropouts, high cost
We run a small farm well outside any cable network and Starlink has completely transformed how we work. Video meetings, cloud backups, the kids' online classes β all of it runs smoothly now. The speed has stayed consistent for months. Worth every rupee.
Fast and consistent in the middle of nowhere
Setting up the Starlink dish myself took about twenty minutes and we were online streaming the same evening. Latency is far better than the old satellite service we had. Only minor gripe is the dish needs a clear view of the sky, so we had to trim a tree.
Easy self-install, low latency
Needs unobstructed sky view
Starlink let us work remotely from a cabin with zero terrestrial coverage. Installation was painless, the app guides you to the right dish position, and the connection has been reliable through all but the worst weather. Genuinely impressed with what SpaceX has built.
Reliable off-grid, simple setup
