As a practice handling dozens of clients, Sage is indispensable. The depth of the chart of accounts, the journal controls and the seamless tax filing make complex bookkeeping manageable. Migrating a new client's data was straightforward and the audit trail keeps everything defensible. After fifteen years of using it I still rate it highly for serious finance work.
Deep accounting controls and tax filing
Sage has handled our bookkeeping and payroll dependably for years and the bank reconciliation feature saves our finance team hours each month. The compliance updates for tax changes always arrive on time, which gives peace of mind. My only minor gripe is the interface looks dated next to newer cloud tools.

What I love about Sage is that it grew with us. We started on the basic accounting tier and moved up to the ERP and payroll modules without ever migrating data elsewhere. Multi-currency invoicing, automated payroll runs and the detailed audit trail have made our finance function genuinely auditable and stress-free at year end. A rock-solid backbone for our operations.
Scales smoothly across accounting, payroll and ERP
Sage Payroll has been excellent for our 50 staff, handling auto-enrolment and payslips without fuss every month. The reporting for management accounts is detailed and easy to share. Now and then the bank feed needs a manual nudge to sync, which is a small annoyance but not a dealbreaker.

We run our accounts on Sage and the software itself is capable, but when our year-end VAT submission threw an error I was stuck on hold for the better part of an afternoon. The knowledge base sent me in circles and the issue took two days to resolve. For a paid accounting product I expected faster help at a critical time.
