Lost days to platform outages mid-matter

During a time-sensitive review the platform suffered repeated slowdowns and one extended outage that froze our reviewers right against a court deadline. Getting a clear status update was difficult and the lost hours added real cost to the matter. For litigation work where deadlines are immovable, that level of unreliability is unacceptable.

Reliable for cross-border investigations

We used Relativity Trace on a multi-jurisdiction matter and the cloud platform handled the data volume and regional hosting requirements without issues. Production sets exported cleanly in the formats opposing counsel demanded. I only wish the admin interface for setting up workspaces was a bit more intuitive.

Costs spiralled beyond our estimate

The platform itself is capable for legal document review, but the hosting and per-gigabyte charges added up far faster than we budgeted for a mid-size matter. By the end of the case the bill was nearly double our initial projection. Powerful, but the unpredictable cost model is a real problem for smaller firms.

Strong e-discovery, steep learning curve

Relativity Trace is the workhorse our litigation team relies on for investigations and the active learning feature genuinely speeds up document prioritisation. New reviewers need solid training before they are productive though. Once you are over that hump it is excellent, but budget time for onboarding.
