Starting with ProtonMail, I now use the calendar, drive, and VPN too, all under one privacy-focused account. Everything is encrypted and the integration is seamless. As someone who cares about not being the product, this service has been exactly what I was looking for.
Integrated, encrypted ecosystem
ProtonMail proves you don't have to trade privacy for a usable inbox. The encrypted messages, aliases to protect my real address, and zero-access architecture make me feel in control of my data. Upgrading to a paid plan unlocked plenty of storage and was absolutely worth it.

I switched to ProtonMail for the privacy, but searching the full text of my emails on the free tier barely works and importing my old mailbox required a separate tool and a lot of patience. The encryption is reassuring, but the day-to-day usability rough edges nearly sent me back.

Weak search, painful import
ProtonMail gives me end-to-end encrypted email without me having to be a security expert. Setup was painless, the apps are clean, and knowing my messages aren't being scanned for ad targeting is worth everything. The Swiss privacy laws behind it add real peace of mind.
True end-to-end encryption, no ad scanning
I moved my personal mail to ProtonMail and love the encryption and the custom domain support on the paid plan. The web client is polished and quick. The mobile app occasionally takes a moment longer to sync new mail than I'd like, but it's a small price for the privacy gained.
