We integrated Plaid to connect our users' bank accounts and it has been rock solid. The documentation is excellent, the sandbox let us test every flow before going live, and account verification that used to take days now happens in seconds. As a developer, this is exactly how an API should feel to work with.

We use Plaid to power account linking and balance checks, and it has handled our growth without drama. The breadth of supported banks means our users almost always find theirs. My one gripe is that the dashboard analytics could surface connection-error reasons more clearly, but the core service is dependable.

The Link component drops straight in, the docs answer almost every question, and the data we get back is consistent and well structured. Our verification and funding flows have been remarkably trouble-free since launch. Couldn't recommend it more for a fintech build.

From an engineering standpoint Plaid is excellent and the integration was straightforward. Where I'm genuinely torn is on the business side: pricing scaled faster than we anticipated as our volume grew, and reaching a human on support took longer than expected. The product is strong, the commercial relationship needs work.

Pricing scales steeply, slow support
Plaid does the heavy lifting of connecting to thousands of banks so we don't have to, and the developer experience is genuinely great. Most connections are instant and stable. The only friction is that a handful of smaller institutions drop their connection periodically and users have to re-authenticate, which generates support tickets.
