I expected a clean experience but Opera kept surfacing sponsored tiles, news pop-ups, and promotions for its own products right on the start page and in notifications. For a browser that should fade into the background, the constant marketing was too intrusive and I uninstalled it.
Intrusive built-in ads and promotions
Opera bundles so much into one browser that I dropped a handful of extensions after switching. The built-in messengers in the sidebar, free VPN, and battery saver are genuinely useful day to day. It's fast, the workspaces keep my tabs organised, and it's become my main browser on both desktop and mobile.

Opera has been my daily driver for months thanks to the clean design and useful built-in tools. Performance is excellent and the free VPN is handy for quick privacy. The only thing keeping it from full marks is that syncing bookmarks between devices occasionally stalls and needs a manual nudge.

I've tried plenty of browsers and Opera strikes the best balance of speed and built-in features for me. The battery saver noticeably extends my laptop's runtime, the ad blocker keeps pages clean, and tab islands make managing research a breeze. A polished, underrated browser that deserves more attention.

Opera's sidebar with pinned chat apps and quick tools is the feature I didn't know I needed. Add the free built-in VPN and the snappy performance and it's a complete package. Syncing between my phone and laptop is seamless, and the dark theme is easy on the eyes during late nights. Love it.
