The intellectual quality at Nishith Desai Associates is undeniable and the technology law advice was genuinely insightful. However, the deliberate, research-heavy approach meant timelines were longer than our deal could comfortably absorb, and the fees reflected the brand. For a fast-moving startup the value equation was a real toss-up.
