N26 has been a great fit since I move between EU countries for work. The app is clean, opening the account was quick, and the free ATM withdrawals in euros are handy. Only minor downside is that customer support can be slow to respond during busy periods.
Easy EU account, clean app
Support response times
I use N26 mainly for travel and the real exchange rates plus instant push notifications are fantastic. The Spaces feature helps me set aside money for trips. I'd give five stars but the limited number of free ATM withdrawals on the basic plan is a small annoyance.
Good travel rates, instant notifications
Few free ATM withdrawals on free plan
N26 nails the modern banking experience with a tidy app and instant alerts, and I genuinely enjoy using it. That said, several useful features sit behind the paid tiers and the free plan caps a lot of things. I'm torn between upgrading and looking elsewhere for better value.
Modern app, instant alerts
Useful features locked behind paid plans
After flagging a suspicious charge, N26 restricted my account and I couldn't access my balance for over a week. With only in-app and email support, getting a human to resolve it was painfully slow while my bills were due. For a bank, being cut off from your own money like this is unacceptable.
Account restricted, no quick support channel
The N26 app is nice once you're in, but the identity verification to open the account failed repeatedly and took several attempts over a few days. Support guidance was generic and didn't address my specific error. A frustrating start to what should be a modern, smooth onboarding.
