MTN keeps me connected whether I'm in Lagos or visiting family across the border, and the data speeds are dependable for the price. I'm genuinely happy with the network. The one gripe is that my airtime occasionally gets deducted for a bundle I didn't activate, which is irritating.
Wide regional coverage, good speeds
Occasional unexpected deductions
MTN's coverage has been solid for me across cities and the call quality is clear even in busy areas. Buying data bundles is usually quick. My only complaint is the MyMTN app sometimes fails to load and I have to dial USSD codes instead, but the network itself is good.
Clear calls, good coverage
App occasionally unreliable
I bought a sizeable MTN data bundle expecting it to last the month, but it drained within days despite light usage and I couldn't get a clear explanation from support. Having to keep recharging makes it expensive and frustrating. The coverage is fine but this really soured the experience.
Data depletes quickly, no clear answers
MTN has been brilliant for me, fast data, reliable calls and the mobile money service lets me pay bills and send cash without ever visiting a bank. Signing up for a new line took minutes at the store. After trying others, MTN is the one I keep recommending to friends.
Reliable network, superb mobile money
I travel for work across several African countries and MTN is the one network I can rely on to have signal almost everywhere, including small towns. The data bundles are reasonably priced and roaming just works. Mobile money has also made paying for things effortless. Excellent.
Continent-wide coverage, easy mobile money
