Honkai Star Rail is one of the most polished mobile-to-PC RPGs I've played, and the cross-save between platforms is seamless. My only gripe is that limited-time events sometimes overlap and you can't realistically finish them all if you have a job. Still a great studio overall.
Cross-platform progress, polished writing
Event timing can be tight
miHoYo has basically set the standard for what live-service games should be. The voice acting is full English and the updates land like clockwork every six weeks with new story chapters. As an Indian player the servers feel responsive too, which I really appreciate.
Regular updates, low ping in Asia
My HoYoverse account got hijacked and I lost years of progress on Genshin Impact. I submitted all the proof of purchase they asked for and still got a copy-paste reply saying they couldn't verify ownership. Spending real money and getting this kind of support is genuinely disappointing.
Game itself is good
Useless account recovery process
There's no denying miHoYo makes beautiful games with deep combat. But the gacha rates and the daily resin system in Genshin make it feel like a second job after a while. I love the worldbuilding and hate the FOMO events in equal measure, so I keep coming back and burning out.
Stunning art and music
Grindy energy systems and gacha
I've been playing Genshin Impact since launch and miHoYo just keeps raising the bar. The new regions are stunning, the soundtrack is orchestral-level quality, and you genuinely don't need to spend a rupee to enjoy the story. Honkai Star Rail proved it wasn't a fluke either.
Gorgeous open world, generous free content
