No predatory microtransactions, no rushed launch, just a complete and generous game. Larian even shipped huge free patches with new endings and features after release. This is how RPGs should be made.
Generous free updates and no microtransactions
After years of unfinished launches, Larian Studios delivered something complete, polished and overflowing with content. The voice acting and the cinematic dialogue system make every conversation feel meaningful. I cannot praise this studio enough.
Polished, complete and content-rich
Larian's Divinity and Baldur's Gate games are masterpieces of choice and consequence. My only small complaint is that act three can hit performance hard even on a strong PC. Still an easy recommendation to any RPG fan.
Deep, reactive storytelling
Performance dips in later acts
Larian Studios set a new standard with BG3. Every choice matters, the companions are deeply written and I keep finding new ways the game reacts to my decisions on each playthrough. The sheer ambition and polish here is staggering.
Incredible reactivity and writing
Playing BG3 in four-player co-op was the most fun I have had in years. Larian's systemic design means our chaotic plans actually work in hilarious ways. The freedom to approach every encounter differently is unmatched.
Brilliant systemic co-op gameplay
