For plain stock trading Kotak Securities does the job and charting is adequate. I find the derivatives section a bit confusing to navigate though, and the margin display is not always intuitive. It is a reasonable choice if you already bank with Kotak, but I am not fully convinced it is the best out there.

I tried to square off an intraday position in commodities and the order got stuck in pending for almost two minutes, costing me a fair bit. When I raised a ticket the response was generic and slow. The platform works most of the time, but for derivatives trading that kind of latency is a real problem.

I have never had an issue with funds or settlements on Kotak Securities, which matters most to me. On the flip side, their research recommendations feel thin compared to some peers and the commodity coverage is limited. It sits right in the middle for me, dependable but not exciting.

Kotak Securities is fine for casual equity trading and I appreciate that it ties into my Kotak bank account. However, on volatile days the trading app sometimes freezes right when I need it most. The brokerage is reasonable on the new plans, so I am genuinely torn between staying and moving on.

Being part of a trusted bank gives me peace of mind, and the account opening was smooth thanks to the linked KYC. That said, the actual trading experience is just average, the app could be faster and the brokerage structure took me a while to understand. Genuinely a mixed bag.
