On a recent multi-target acquisition Kira Systems pulled change-of-control and assignment clauses across hundreds of agreements with accuracy that genuinely surprised our team. Reviewers could focus on judgment instead of hunting through PDFs. For high-volume contract review it has become an essential part of our diligence toolkit.
Massive time savings on high-volume review
Our practice has used Kira Systems on several large M&A deals and the consistency of its machine-learning extraction is excellent. It catches obligations buried in long agreements that a tired reviewer might miss, and the audit trail gives clients confidence. A genuinely best-in-class due diligence tool.
Consistent, auditable extraction
Kira Systems does a strong job pulling key provisions out of contracts during due diligence, and the out-of-the-box smart fields cover a lot. Where I am torn is that teaching it our firm-specific clauses requires a meaningful time investment before the accuracy gets there. Worth it on large projects, less so for one-off reviews.

Kira Systems clearly works and the accuracy is there once your team learns it. My mixed feelings come from cost versus frequency. We only run truly large diligence exercises a few times a year, so the platform sits idle in between. If your deal flow is steady it is fantastic value; for us it is a tougher call.

There is no questioning the quality of what Kira Systems extracts from a contract set. Where it loses me a bit is the user experience, which feels more like enterprise software than a tool fee-earners enjoy using. The results are good, the day-to-day workflow just is not as smooth as I had hoped.
