I've stayed with au for half a decade because it simply works. Coverage is superb, the 5G rollout in my area made things even faster, and the app makes managing everything painless. Whenever I've needed help, the response has been quick and courteous. A genuinely excellent carrier.

KDDI's au service has given me incredibly stable coverage all over Japan, from dense Tokyo to quiet countryside towns. The 5G speeds are excellent and I've never had a dropped call. The au app and points integration with everyday shopping is a genuinely nice bonus. Couldn't be happier.

The au network quality itself is excellent, but I ran into a billing issue that took three separate visits to a store to resolve and a lot of back and forth. For a carrier this large the after-sales support felt slow and disjointed. The network deserves better service behind it.
