Our intermodal container with J.B. Hunt sat at a rail ramp far longer than the quoted transit, and getting a straight answer on the delay was a struggle. By the time it moved we'd already disappointed a customer. The capacity is there, but the visibility into rail dwell time needs serious work.
Long rail dwell with poor delay visibility
When freight markets got tight, J.B. Hunt still found us capacity where smaller carriers couldn't, and the transit reliability across our lanes has been excellent. Their tracking tools give our team real visibility and the drivers are consistently professional. They've earned the bulk of our truckload volume.
Reliable capacity even in tight markets
J.B. Hunt has been our backbone for dedicated truckload freight and the consistency is outstanding, drivers are professional and on-time performance is excellent. The account team knows our business and heads off issues before they hit us. For a national carrier this has been a genuinely strong partnership.
Consistent on-time performance and great account team
J.B. Hunt's dedicated trucking has been reliable for us and the drivers are top-notch. The intermodal side is more of a mixed bag, sometimes it's seamless and cost-effective, other times rail delays throw off our planning. A capable carrier overall, just inconsistent across their service lines.
Excellent dedicated trucking
Inconsistent intermodal reliability
We've used J.B. Hunt for intermodal moves and the service itself is fine, but the fuel and accessorial surcharges have stacked up to where the total cost no longer feels competitive. When I queried the charges the explanation was slow to come. Good network, but the billing left me disappointed.
Stacked surcharges and slow billing answers
