Does the job but privacy is a question mark

It's free and quick, which I like, and the no-login approach is convenient for one-off shares. That said anyone with the link can access the file, and I'm not fully clear on how encrypted things are at rest. Fine for non-sensitive stuff, wouldn't use it for anything personal.

Free download speeds got throttled hard

Tried pulling a 3GB file someone shared and the free download crawled along, kept dropping below a few hundred KB/s. Took most of an evening for something that should have been quick. Felt like a deliberate nudge toward paying, which left a sour taste.

Great for quick transfers, less great if you need it to last

The upload experience is smooth and the unlimited storage claim is real for active files. But I'm torn because the retention policy means anything you stop touching can get cleaned up, so I can't use it for long-term archiving. Good tool, just know what it's for.

Lost an entire folder of shared files overnight

Had a whole folder of files I was actively sharing with a team and one morning the link just returned an error, folder gone. No notice, no trash bin to recover from. For something people rely on for handoffs, silently dropping a full folder is unacceptable.

My go-to for sharing within a community, works every time

I run a small modding group and we pass around large asset packs constantly. Gofile lets me fold everything into a folder link and the download speeds have been consistently solid even for people overseas. No registration friction means new members can grab files instantly. Couldn't ask for more from a free service.
