Carnival offers real bang for your buck and our Caribbean sailing had a fun, social vibe with great deck parties. The cabin was compact but well kept. I'd have given five stars if the drinks package weren't quite so pricey for what you get.

Expensive drinks package
Carnival made our first-ever cruise effortless, from easy embarkation to a packed schedule of shows, comedy and dining. The crew were warm and remembered our names by day two. We came home already planning the next sailing. Fantastic introduction to cruising.
Friendly crew and packed activity schedule
The destinations on our Carnival voyage were wonderful and the excursions well organised. Onboard, though, the ship felt packed and finding a quiet spot or a free lounger was a daily challenge. Half the trip was fantastic and half was a bit of a scrum.

Our Carnival cruise to the Bahamas had brilliant entertainment and the kids loved the water park, so there was plenty to enjoy. On the other hand the main dining room service was slow and the buffet got very crowded at peak times. A genuinely mixed week.

We had a good time on our Carnival cruise and the destinations were lovely, but the constant extra charges for specialty dining, photos and Wi-Fi added up fast. The base experience is fine; just budget for the steady stream of upsells. Mixed feelings overall.
