For sharing files securely across our organization Box is dependable and the integration with our other business tools is handy. However the desktop sync application occasionally stalls and I have to restart it to get files updating again. Not a dealbreaker but not the polished experience I expected.
Good integrations, secure sharing
Flaky desktop sync
Box has been a stable home for our company files and the enterprise-grade security gives our clients confidence when we share sensitive documents. My one gripe is that the mobile app feels slower than it should when opening larger files. Otherwise a dependable content management platform.
Enterprise security, stable platform
Mobile app can be slow
We adopted Box for its compliance certifications and it delivers on governance and access control. The trouble is for a smaller department it feels heavy, with a lot of admin settings we never touch. Genuinely useful for regulated industries but mixed feelings about whether we needed all of it.
Great governance features
Feels heavy for small teams
Box keeps all our enterprise documents organized and the version history has saved us more than once. Where it loses me is the search, which often fails to surface files I know exist, so I waste time digging through folders. A capable platform that still has rough edges.
Useful version history
Search is unreliable
Box is solid for enterprise file management and our compliance team loves the granular permission controls and audit logs. On the other hand, the web interface feels a bit clunky compared to newer tools and uploading large folders can be sluggish. It does the security job well but the daily experience is just okay.
Strong security and permissions
Dated, sometimes sluggish UI
