Botify is clearly built for serious technical SEO at enterprise scale and the crawl data is excellent. Where I'm torn is accessibility, as the platform really assumes you have a dedicated technical SEO who lives in it daily. For a smaller team it's a lot of capability that goes underused. Great tool, demanding to operate.

Botify's combination of crawling and log file analysis gives a uniquely clear picture of how search engines actually treat our large site. The disappointment was the setup, which required wrangling log exports and pipelines that took our dev team weeks to get flowing reliably. Powerful once running, but the runway to value was longer than sold.
We onboarded Botify specifically for a multi-million URL site and ran into repeated crawl failures and incomplete data sets that made the analysis unreliable. Support acknowledged the scale issues but the fixes were slow to land, and we paid for months while barely able to trust the output. For an enterprise crawler, that's a fundamental failure.
Botify is one of the most expensive SEO tools we've used and after a full contract we struggled to point to clear ROI. Between the steep learning curve and how much engineering time it demanded just to keep data flowing, the platform never became part of the team's routine. We did not renew.
Once we got past onboarding, Botify proved unmatched for understanding crawl budget and indexation on our enterprise site. Pairing crawl data with real log files showed us exactly which pages bots were wasting time on, and fixing that lifted our organic visibility. I'd only ask for slightly simpler reporting for non-technical stakeholders.
