Allbirds are honestly the comfiest casual shoes I own and I love that they're machine washable. The wool runs warm in summer and I had to size down half a size, which the chart didn't make obvious. Once I got the fit sorted they've been great for daily wear.

I'm genuinely torn on Allbirds. They feel amazing on the foot and the sustainable angle is appealing, but two pairs now have worn through faster than cheaper shoes I've owned. If they cracked the durability they'd be perfect, but right now I can't decide if they're worth it.

My Allbirds wool runners were lovely and cosy for the first couple of months, but the soles started flattening and the toe area developed holes far sooner than I expected. For a shoe at this price point I wanted them to last longer than a single season.

Within three months the upper on my Allbirds separated from the sole on one shoe. I reached out expecting some help given the natural-materials premium I paid, and was basically told it was normal wear. That's a frustrating answer for shoes that barely lasted a season.

I bought into the eco wool story and the first wear was great, but after washing them as instructed the shoes lost all structure and started looking baggy. Disappointing for a brand that leans so hard on quality natural materials. They're comfy, just not durable.
