My AirAsia flight was delayed over six hours and then the gate kept changing with no clear announcements. Staff at the counter could not give a straight answer and there was no meal voucher or assistance offered. I missed an onward connection and felt completely abandoned.
Long delay with zero passenger support
AirAsia exceeded every expectation on my Asia-Pacific trip. The fare was tiny, the plane was clean and new, and we landed early. I pre-booked a meal and it was surprisingly tasty. For a low-cost airline this felt like a premium experience at budget money.
Outstanding value and clean aircraft
AirAsia is great for cheap regional hops and most of my flights have been fine. But a schedule change on one trip was only communicated by a buried email and I nearly missed it. Genuinely torn because the price is right but the communication needs improvement.
Low fares for short routes
Poor schedule-change notifications
Used AirAsia for a Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok hop and it was smooth and punctual. Booking on the app was quick and the crew were cheerful. Only minor annoyance was the tight seat pitch on the longer leg, but for a low-cost carrier I cannot complain much.
Cheap, easy booking, on time
Snug legroom
AirAsia got me across to Bali for a fraction of the usual cost which I appreciated. The flight itself was fine and on time, but everything from baggage to a bottle of water is an extra charge that adds up fast. Fair for the price if you pack light.
Very affordable base fare
Lots of add-on fees
